Terms of Use
The agreement between you and Tim Tenckhoff when you use algorhythm (algorhythm.video).
Last updated 28 August 2026
1. This agreement
These terms are between you and Tim Tenckhoff, Wilhelm-stolze Straße 34, 10249 Berlin, Germany (“we”, “us”). They apply whenever you use algorhythm (algorhythm.video) (the “Service”), whether or not you have an account. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Service.
How we handle data is described separately in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.
2. What the Service is
The Service is a browser-based studio that turns audio you supply into an animated video. Loading, previewing and exporting all run on your own device using your browser and graphics hardware; we do not receive your files.
It needs a reasonably current browser with WebGL2 and video-encoding support. We cannot guarantee it will work on every device or browser, and performance depends on your hardware.
3. Your account
You can use the studio without an account. If you create one, keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us promptly if you think someone else is using them. You must be at least 16, and old enough to enter a contract where you live.
You can delete your account at any time from your profile page.
4. Your content and your rights
You keep every right you already have in the audio, artwork and video you bring to or make with the Service. We claim no ownership over it and, because it never reaches us, we hold no copy and no licence to it.
You are responsible for having the rights to what you use. Do not load music, artwork or other material you are not licensed to use — a track you did not write and have no permission for is your risk, not ours, and licensing it is between you and its rights holders.
The videos you export are yours. You may use them commercially, publish them, and post them anywhere, subject only to the rights in the underlying material.
5. Your work is not stored by us
Because everything runs in your browser tab, everything lives in that tab. Closing it, reloading it, or navigating away discards your loaded track, its analysis, your cover image and your trim. There is no autosave and no server-side copy we can restore, so export anything you want to keep.
6. Plans and payment
The studio itself is free and unlimited: every preset, colour, cover style and aspect ratio is available to everyone, with or without an account. What a plan changes is the exported file.
- Free. Exports carry a watermark, are limited to 60 seconds and to 720p.
- Pro. No watermark, no length limit, and export up to the highest quality offered. Current pricing is on the pricing page.
Paid plans renew automatically for the period you chose until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your profile; the plan then runs to the end of the period you have already paid for and is not renewed. We may change prices, and will tell you before a change affects a subscription you already hold.
If you are a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. Because the Service is digital content supplied immediately, you agree that supply begins at once and you lose that right once you have exported a file under the paid plan.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for anything unlawful, or to make content that infringes someone else's rights.
- Create material that is defamatory, harassing, hateful, or sexually exploitative of anyone, or that depicts a real person in a way intended to deceive.
- Work around, disable or misrepresent the export limits attached to your plan, including removing the watermark from a free export.
- Attack, overload or probe the Service or the infrastructure behind it.
- Resell or rebrand the Service as your own.
The limits on free exports are enforced in software that runs on your own machine. That makes them technically possible to bypass; bypassing them is nevertheless a breach of this agreement, and we may suspend or close the account of anyone who does.
8. Third-party services
If you connect SoundCloud, your use of it stays governed by SoundCloud’s own terms, and you may only load tracks you are entitled to download. Third-party sign-in and payment are likewise governed by those providers’ terms. We are not responsible for services we do not run, and any of them may change or withdraw access at any time.
9. Availability and changes
We give no uptime guarantee. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service, and we may add, alter or remove presets and features — including ones you have used before. Where a change would materially reduce what a paid plan gives you, we will tell you in advance.
10. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we do not warrant that an export will succeed on your device or that its output will meet any particular platform’s requirements.
11. Liability
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under German law. We are fully liable for intent and gross negligence.
For ordinary negligence we are liable only where we breach an obligation essential to this agreement, and then only for foreseeable, typical loss. We are not liable for lost work, lost profit, or lost data — including work discarded when a browser tab closes, which section 5 explains and which you can avoid by exporting.
12. Ending this agreement
You may stop using the Service and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will normally warn you first unless the breach is serious. If we close a paid account without cause, we refund the unused part of the period you have paid for.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and if you have an account we will tell you by email before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new version.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory law in your own country of residence.
