Privacy Policy

How algorhythm (algorhythm.video) handles your data. The short version: the music you load and the videos you make never leave your device.

Last updated 28 August 2026

At a glance

  • Your audio, artwork and finished videos stay on your device. They are never uploaded to us. We have no copy and no way to see them.
  • No analytics, no advertising, no tracking. There is no third-party tracker of any kind on this site.
  • We only hold an account if you create one. You can use the whole studio, including export, without signing in.

Who is responsible

algorhythm (algorhythm.video) is operated by Tim Tenckhoff, Wilhelm-stolze Straße 34, 10249 Berlin, Germany. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), that is the controller for the processing described here.

For anything in this document — including access, correction or deletion requests — write to info@algorhythm.video.

What never leaves your device

The studio runs entirely in your browser. When you load a track, it is decoded and analysed in the page, drawn by your own graphics hardware, and — when you export — encoded into an MP4 file by your browser and saved straight to your downloads.

None of that passes through a server of ours. Specifically, the following are never transmitted to or stored by us:

  • Audio files you upload, and everything derived from them (waveform, beat and frequency analysis).
  • Cover images you add.
  • The video files you export.
  • The way you have arranged a particular project — the preset, colour, trim and cover framing.

A practical consequence worth knowing: because your work lives only in the browser tab, closing or reloading that tab discards it. Export before you leave.

What we do collect

Account details
If you create an account: your email address, your name and profile picture if you provide one, and sign-in metadata such as the time of your last login. We need this to give you an account and apply your plan (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) — performance of a contract).
Sign-in with Google or another provider
If you choose to sign in with a third-party provider, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from that provider in order to create and identify your account. We request nothing beyond basic profile and email, and we use it for nothing else.
Subscription details
If you subscribe: which plan you are on and its status. Payment is handled by our payment provider — card numbers and bank details never reach us and we cannot see them.
SoundCloud connection
Only if you connect SoundCloud: an access token, held in a cookie so the studio can list your tracks. Track titles, artwork and durations are fetched to display them to you and are not stored on our servers.
Studio settings
Your preset, colour, format, quality and cover preferences, and your light/dark choice. These are stored in your own browser, not sent to us.
Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard request data — IP address, time, page requested, browser type — to serve the site and to detect abuse (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) — legitimate interests). These are short-lived and not used to profile you.

What we don't do

  • We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking software of any kind.
  • We do not sell, rent or trade personal data.
  • We do not build advertising or behavioural profiles.
  • We do not use your audio, artwork or exported videos to train machine-learning models — we never receive them in the first place.
  • We do not send marketing email unless you ask us to.

Cookies

We set no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no consent banner to click through. The cookies below are the ones the site actually uses, and each is necessary for the feature it belongs to.

Sign-in session
Set by our authentication provider to keep you signed in. Only present once you have an account.
sc_access_token, sc_pkce_verifier, sc_pkce_state, sc_connected
Only if you connect SoundCloud. The token and the two sign-in values cannot be read by any script — including ours — and are sent only to this site's own SoundCloud endpoints. They expire with the SoundCloud session, and disconnecting removes them.
settings-cookie
Remembers your light/dark preference so the first paint is not the wrong theme.
gtt-studio-settings
Not a cookie but browser local storage: your studio preferences. Clearing your site data removes it.

Who else is involved

We keep the list short on purpose. Each of these acts on our instructions under a data processing agreement, and each has its own privacy policy:

  • Clerk — accounts, sign-in and subscription management. Privacy policy.
  • Stripe — payment processing, via Clerk. Card details go directly to Stripe. Privacy policy.
  • SoundCloud — only if you connect it, and only to read your own tracks. Privacy policy.
  • Our hosting provider — serves the site and keeps the request logs described above.

Some of these operate outside the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, transfers are covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

How long we keep things

  • Account data: for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and it goes with it.
  • Subscription and payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep them, which in Germany is up to ten years.
  • SoundCloud tokens: until they expire or you disconnect, whichever comes first.
  • Server logs: a short period, set by our hosting provider, for security and troubleshooting.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, ask us to restrict how we use it, receive it in a portable format, or object to processing we base on legitimate interests. Where processing rests on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what came before.

Write to info@algorhythm.video and we will respond within one month. You can also delete your account yourself from your profile page, and disconnect SoundCloud from the studio at any time.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to a data protection authority. Ours is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (datenschutz-berlin.de), though you may also complain in the country where you live.

Children

algorhythm (algorhythm.video) is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top of it. If a change is significant and you have an account, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
